COMMUNITY EDUCATION

Our community Education Programme (DEDP) entails capacity-strengthening and quite often related to the transition from relief and recovery to reconstruction and development. The environment is generally peaceful and stable, thus allowing for medium to long-term planning and programming HOPE interventions usually include, at the minimum, literacy training, basic education at the community level, and the training of service providers. All of these efforts include the promotion of psychosocial well-being.

We are is often involved in enhancing the capacities of other community-based organizations and facilitating the formation and development of networks. In addition, we provide field placements for interns and fellows from the local academic community.

EDUCATION & TRINING

HOPE Charity dedicated to empowering disadvantaged and orphan children by equipping them with the tools they need to thrive. Through our learner support program, we offer assistance with school and madrassah fees, provision of essential supplies like stationery and uniforms, and tertiary education bursaries to pave the way for future academic pursuits and economic independence. Our commitment extends to enhancing the educational landscape by providing schools and teachers with training, management guidance, and infrastructure improvements, ensuring quality education delivery. Additionally, we extend our support to poor students locally and internationally, while also offering skills training to women headed families and widows, enabling them to secure sustainable livelihoods.

In the past year, our educational initiatives have impacted over 6000 learners, spanning from subsidizing school fees for underprivileged students to distributing educational materials nationwide, including hygiene packs for girls and conducting teacher training programs. Furthermore, our efforts have extended to bolstering madrasah feeding programs, with plans for further expansion in the upcoming year.

Our adult skills training program has empowered over 200 women and needy in the past year alone. The HOPE Charity vocational training center has been instrumental in providing skills training to over 1000 young women since its inception, with ongoing funding support from HOPE for the past two years. Building on this success, we aim

to broaden our adult skills training initiatives to foster self-sufficiency and reduce dependency on aid. This entails establishing sewing centers to empower women and facilitating on-the-job training programs to enhance employability prospects for job seekers.

PARTNERING TO SUPPORT THE EDUCATION OF THE UNPRIVILEGED CHILDREN.

Founded with a deep passion for making a difference, our mission is to provide underprivileged children with access to quality education, a nurturing environment, and opportunities to achieve their full potential.

We believe that education is the most powerful tool for breaking the cycle of poverty and creating a brighter future. In Sri Lanka, countless children face significant challenges, including lack of access to basic educational resources, school supplies, and safe learning spaces. At HOPE Sri Lanka, we work tirelessly to bridge this gap by:

Sponsoring Education: We provide scholarships and financial support to children who cannot afford school fees, ensuring they can attend school and focus on their studies without financial barriers.

Providing School Supplies: From textbooks and uniforms to stationery and other essentials, we equip children with the tools they need to succeed in their academic journey.

Creating Opportunities: Beyond academics, we invest in extracurricular activities, mentorship programs, and community-building initiatives to help children develop holistically and discover their unique talents.

Providing basic needs.: We realized that many orphaned and vulnerable children could not even make it to school, not because they lacked the desire, but because they lacked the most basic necessities like food, clothing, and hygiene essentials.

How can a hungry child focus in class? How can a child walk miles to school with no shoes or proper clothing

To bridge this gap, we introduced a special program that first meets these children’s basic needs before helping them enroll in school. By providing food, clothing, and hygiene essentials, we ensure they are physically and emotionally ready to learn.

Our vision is a world where every child, regardless of their background, has the opportunity to dream big, learn, and thrive. With the support of our generous donors, partners, and volunteers, we have already impacted the lives of many children and their families. But our work is far from over—there are still so many children who need our help.

Join us in this life-changing mission. Together, we can ensure that every child has the chance to shine and build a brighter tomorrow
